Reprogramming Repair

Tu/e Research project

Circularity, Co-design, Speculative design Research through design

Driven by an interest in repair and its promotion at the local level, I investigated how “reprogramming,” understood as redesigning a space without major infrastructural changes, can help integrate repair into everyday life. Through interviews with repair professionals and researchers, I identified the services and activities that are essential for enabling repair. These insights were translated into design attributes and used during design sessions to explore how a neighborhood could be redesigned to make repair more accessible and a natural part of everyday life. The research provided valuable insights into both the opportunities and challenges of integrating repair into daily life.
